TRAILS AROUND SOUTHBOROUGH 
- Beals Preserve
Beals Preserve is 56 acres of woodlands, meadows, a pond, and marshes
located on the south side of Main Street (Rte. 30) opposite Chestnut
Hill Road in Southborough. The property is co-owned by SOLF and Elaine
Beals. There are trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.

Wildlife Habitat
This is a reservation which contains 18 acres of woodland and meadow
located on Oak Hill in Southborough. You can walk through an oak-hickory
forest with dramatic rock outcrops. then pass through a native plant
bird garden, and you may be treated to a glorious view of Wachusett
Mountain far off in the distance.
- Chestnut
Hill Farm
A lovely 3.25-mile loop through woodlands that show the result of a
responsibly planned timber harvest.
- Cedar
Hill and Sawink Farm Reservation
More than 2,225 acres of open space straddle the borders of Northborough,
Westborough, Southborough, and Marlborough, making this site one of
the most significant areas of open space in the SuAsCo River Watershed.
Natural features include red maple swamps, wooded drumlins, ponds, streams,
wet meadows, agricultural fields, and plantation forests, as well as
tributaries to both the Sudbury and Assabet Rivers. The size of this
natural oasis is particularly remarkable as it is bounded by major transportation
corridors including I-495 to the east, Route 9 to the south, Route 135
to the west, and ConRail track and Route 20 to the north, along with
associated industrial and residential development.
